Did you know that 4 times as many people die of cold related injuries over heat related injuries every single year? That’s right, you are more likely to die of cold than of heat. While it’s not politically popular today, winters are not getting any easier nor are they getting shorter.
Even with the sophisticated weather prediction models that mankind possesses, knowing what you are about to encounter is pretty low on the confidence level. Random cold fronts, surprise snowstorms, random vehicle mishaps. Did you also know that 97% of the US landmass is considered rural? Meaning that for massive chunks of the US your ability to get help is prolonged or unlikely to know you need help?
We developed our Emergency Sleep Shelter to combat environmental conditions that can kill you. No trash, no gimmicks, no nonsense. Our shelters were built around the science of safety. Understanding the physics of how humans generate heat and how it is dissipated to the environment, we also understand that selling you a foil trash bag isn’t going to save you from anything close to a real environmental emergency.
We took the science and built the kit to stop heat loss through the three ways heat is pulled away from the body. Radiation, convection and conduction. Trying to beat it by just pretending you can fight one form of heat loss is a recipe for disaster. We know how to keep you safe in austere conditions. Our bivy bag is custom made 4 times thicker than the cheap bags you can buy on the net. It also happens to be twice the size as the typical one so that you and another person can fit in the same bag. The oversized, over-thick film is durable and unlikely to puncture or tear in tough conditions. Our second component is
a large, oversized air mattress that can fit two people on their sides against one another. Air is a great insulator and an air mattress keeps you comfortable and from losing heat to the ground through direct contact. A built in manual pump that can inflate the mattress is included in the foot area. You can pump it by hand or by foot. We even include a couple of patches just in case you decide that you are going to place your mattress in the wrong location. Finally we include a heavyweight polar fleece blanket. This is our final step and not only does it give you comfort of having a blanket, the heavy polar fleece traps air
and helps to keep you even more warm. We include a bonus on your blanket. It is marked in large orange letters with HELP to allow you to signal to anyone who looks that you need assistance.
Know this, with Survival Bootcamp’s Emergency sleep shelter, we have you covered, literally and figuratively.
