HYFIN CHEST SEALS

North American Rescue, the makers of the CAT tourniquet make the Hyfin Chest seals. If you are initiated you probably remember that the early chest seals were nothing more than Vaseline impregnated gauze, that most of the EMS community used wrong. The gauze was to simulate a clot, and the foil wrapper was the actual seal. Many forgot how to tape them and made problems worse.  

The next generation of seals were non-vented. Basically, giant stickers to cover holes. The tech is nearly the same but we know that to be less lethal and buy time to the surgical suite, we need to have a vented chest seal on each side of the chest that has an extra hole. We won’t bore you with the science in the description (we give you all the details for chest trauma in the training) but know this… the accepted medical standard is a vented chest seal in 2025. We scoured and tested all the different ones on the market and the Hyfin is the best in our opinion. No complicated gimmicks that fail and it’s easy to use for anyone applying it.

Hyfin chest seals come in pairs. We sell both life safety and trainers. If you have read anything we have written, you know we value training. The difference between a trainer and a life safety seal is the amount of tackiness of the glue. There is a notable difference between them, and we warn everyone against trying to use trainers for a live event.
